The Best Disposable Diapers Out There for Your Little One and Mother Nature

Disposable diapers are super convenient when we don’t want to deal with our kids’ crap (literally). If you’d rather avoid reusable cloth diapers, we’ve got the list of the best disposable options here for you!

When we talk about “the best diapers out there”, we mean diapers that are not full of chemicals, absorb well, are affordable, and helpful to our planet. Some of the harmful components in traditionally made diapers include dyes, fragrances, phthalates, lotions, tributyl-tin, and dioxins.

The top environmental factor in these diapers is that the top and back sheets in the diapers are made from 100% bamboo; bamboo is naturally antimicrobial, antibacterial, deodorizing, and hypoallergenic. Bamboo is 40-70% more absorbent than cotton and wicks liquid away from the skin. Doesn’t that sound like exactly what you want hugging your baby’s bum all day?? Yes please, and thank you. Ready for a bonus? Bamboo is biodegradable, is grown without pesticides, uses 1/3 less water than cotton, and will give you 10 times more product than cotton while replenishing itself! Benefits for everyone!

FUN FACT: Did you know that we should be dumping our kids’ poo into the toilet no matter disposable diaper or cloth?? It creates a potential health crisis, sitting in a disposable diaper in the middle of a landfill, seeping into the earth and soil. So the next time your baby makes number two, toss it into the toilet and you’ll do one more thing to keep Mother Nature safe!

All of these diapers do have superabsorbent polymers (SAPs), which are not biodegradable, but have been shown to be non-toxic and not harmful. There are people who are doing research to find a  biodegradable alternative SAP, and hopefully we’ll see something from them soon! If you’d like to read more about SAP, please check out this article.
